Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
we agree for the most part, but our ships are not cloak capable. we have never needed it. our home does the job for us.
Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
Cardassia will be willing to lend ten standard cloaking devices to the Tauri for the duration of the mission should you wish them.

It may be better for the Turei to use Klingon cloaking devices since many of their ships currently use Klingon technology.

It is of no consequence to us, the High Charity class is a relatively modular design. A cloaking device from either nation could be fitted with little trouble.

Emergency Address by the President
Tonight I speak to my state on the verge of another great struggle. Some mysterious new force has poised itself on our border destroying another race to do so. It sits there silently resisting any attempt to make contact. It is said that this foe is powerful, and indeed they must be, but I say do not have fear.
We know very little about this power, indeed so little that tomorrow we could be at war. But this is nothing new to the people of the Federation. We have always sought to reach beyond our borders, and many times we have found hostility and mystery, and we did not have fear.
A long time ago we faced the abyss of assimilation by the Borg. A seemingly insurmountable foe with but one goal, total conquest. We have thwarted their attempts not once but twice, and we did not have fear.
It has been many years now since we faced the biggest threat to all life in the Alpha Quadrant. A fight we were predicted to loose. But we fought and overcame our adversaries and defeated the Dominion, and so I say do not have fear.
What ever should come from the hole where the Imperium once stood, we shall meet it without fear as the Federation always has.
I wish also to dispel the rumor that this is the Borg attacking us again. We have rescued a few who escaped the area. The rumors are spread because this race appears to embrace the ideas of the Borg and create cyborgs of themselves. The level of technology they use is nothing like the Borg, and is in fact greatly inferior to their technology.
Lastly, to our border worlds. We thank you for taking in the Packled refugees in the spirit of the Federation. We understand what burden they impose on you. The Federation has made preparations to resettle the Packled on their own world. We ask the people and governments hosting them now to be patient. Plans were put in place as soon as possible to begin preparations, but it will take time. We ask for one year and we will have them moved. One year of the Packled presence.
I know you can do it. I know, as the Federation, We can do it. Let us stand strong, stand together, stand with our values, and not have fear.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Then the Sheliak would like to invite you to introduce yourself to the Galactic scene.

I am the Speaker, voice of the Director and the Taiidan Directorate, herald of the Migrant Fleet. Well will brook no further violations of our territory or our next "introduction" will be through the business end of an arbiter class cannon. We are not in the business of exchanging petty pleasantries with mentally deficient blunts who cannot abide by so simple an order as "Do not violate our space." If someone of actual consequence were to ask we might deign to answer.

We would abide by the order where the order given. Or are we to take it that the genocide of the Kazon, however much we disliked them, was your "order"?

Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
The Federation already attempted to violate our space before and were told not to. Given that they were involved in the latest attempted incursion we saw no reason to issue the same warning again. If the blunts were to stupid to listen the first time their destruction is their own fault. If they did not inform you of our warning then I would suggest that you reconsider future joint actions with them. Or is sending cloaked warships clandestinely into another nation's sovereign territory a gesture of friendship here rather than an invitation to war?

-bows head- Fair points. The Federations...reticence to inform us was perhaps unwise. However, for the greater galactic community, we were entirely unaware of the Taiidan take over of FKI space, how we were to know not to violate someones space if it is not declared for the world to see?

Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
An appropriate starting point would be to stay on your side of the local cluster and concern yourself with what happens there. We now share a border with the Federation and the Union, the Federation was warned. If they did not pass that along to their confederates it is not our concern.
If you come traipsing across the local cluster without so much as a preliminary attempt at communication with the power that just removed another from existence and react with surprise when that power does not appreciate an attempted infiltration with cloaked warships then it would seem your mental faculties are insufficient for the trials of leadership of an interstellar nation.

*Kurn laughs violently from watching the exchange*
Glorious! Absolutely glorious! To smash your enemy without them even hinting real resistance. Followed with not one but two perfect cuts against the neighbors. Ah, this is a day of days. The blood gods must be very well fed from these last few years!

Then perhaps the circuitry of whatever technology you have buried in your heads is defective, you are clearly missing the point. For all intents and purposes, we had no idea your power existed. Are we to caste our voices at what we believed to be an empty and dead region of space or are we to investigate?
