me,myself and I wrote: I don't doubt it (doesn't make me feel any better about it tho). Replacing "What" with "Why" might be more accurate.
I never heard why Larsen put Muffit and Boxy in the show. I guess it was because 70's TV was "family friendly" and he wanted to showcase how awesome Space Mormons are.

Simple, he put the kid and the dog in the show so that kids (and dogs, presumably) would watch.

They even put Boxey in the remake... but then almost never used him again. Moore said he wanted to, but they never had the time.

Aye, I think he turned up a grand total of three times in the first season, and then dissapeared, never to be seen again.

Can't we just somehow intersplice Where No One Has Gone Before, The Child, The Muse, and any random animated series episode and call it quits?

Here's the plot from hell

It turns out that Spock has a brother that was NEVER EVER EVER mentioned before, who steals the Enterprise with a dozen or so people, brainwashes the crew into helping, all to go and look for God, who is really a bad alien pretending to be God, and they shoot with a photon torpedo that doesn't seem to do much damage, but somehow kill him with a small scout ships disruptors.

Oh, wait.........................

 To be fair, that torpedo is probably the most anaemic we've ever seen in Trek - Kirk was standing right next to it, so it would be pretty stupid to use a full-yield shot.

Lets not forget that they flew to the center of the galaxy in short order as well, showing a rate of speed never before or again displayed.

Actually, unless the torpedo had been braking pretty hard, the impact from dropping a couple thousand pound mass of metal from orbit would have probably done Kirk in.

Just the mass of the torp? based on the coffin-sized casings we've seen in 'Trek, I can't see that being more than a few hundred pounds unless they use some material of absolutely crazy density.

But, your point is correct - Kirk's character shield was obviously running at full power.

Plenty of things smaller than that that weigh more. I'd assume that a torp is jam full of equipment.

Really? One of those little buggers weighs 10 tons? Maybe I got my terminology wrong - I meant one of the little prop-driven ones, not one of the bigger ramjet ones. It might be called a *something-else* Hawk.
