Yes yes, we well know your inability to control your own government.

They are no more a part of our government than the Duras house was a part of yours.

Yes, and for it their house has been burned into history by their own blood! They died a traitor's death as they so well deserved. Don't worry to much little Romulan. You'll be meeting them shortly in the after life.

I don't plan on making it past sundown. I just spoke out against the Tal'Shiar.

And when Kahlass meets you, he'll send you back for your foolishness.

The Turei Assembly has seen fit, as per the terms of the Treaty of the Federation, to throw its support behind the Federation blockade. Any assault by the Imperial Navy, or the Tal'Shiar will be met with assistance from the Turei Assembly fleet. We have also extended our offer in good faith, in that any Federation ship that triggers an attack INSIDE Romulan territory will also trigger the same response.

It is with sadness that we have made these arrangements. But we feel it necessary to both protect our borders, and to support our Mutual defence allies.

The Federation's leadership has threatened the Klingon Empire with war if we do not conform to their wishes. Since they could not convice the members of the Non-Proliferation Treaty to agree with them. They have now moved against the wishes of those involved. These actions are not only a violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty but also of the Khitomer Accords. The Federation has violated the trust of the Klingon Empire.

In response, the Klingon Empire's border's are now closed to the Starfleet vessels. Our forces assigned to the Wormhole Defenses are withdrawn.

The Romulan military will offer no resistance to the Federation, or any of its allies.

However, the Tal'Shiar has a history of interference. From this day forward, the Tal'Shiar is no longer a legally recognized entity within the Romulan Star Empire. Any Tal'Shiar operatives that take action against the Federation, its allies, or the Romulan people will be dealt with severely. All Tal'Shiar vessels will surrender, and all officers of such vessels will be imprisoned until trials can be held.
For far too long the Tal'Shiar have taken foolish actions that have only threatened the Empire. This will no longer be the case. The Tal'Shiar ends now.

If it will only take a year to refit the fleet, how long has the Cardassian Union had the devices before you decided to inform the rest of us?
No disrespect intended. We understand you were under no obligation. But we are curious.

With all due rescect to my Romulan colleague, you are correct. We are under no obligation to disclose how long we have had this technology. All I am willing to say is that after the Breen incident, we realized the tactical benifets of cloaking devices. We have made no effort to conceal this ability and we chose now to disclose this since the work is almost complete. We are not upgrading our older ships though.

The reasons for our incursion have been made clear. We did not give the new Cardassian government enough credit, and should have worked together to find the shipyard. We did not, and still do not trust the Federation, and we were concerned about the shipyard falling into their hands. It would have unbalanced the region even further.

Again, we apologize to the Cardassian people. We wish to have a more productive future.

My apologies. It was not my intent to bring up old grievences, merely to present our Romulan colleuge with a time frame for his question. We really have no desire to share with the Romulans how long it took our finest minds to develop technology from scratch. The aforementioned incident was simply used for it's time referrences, nothing more.

For the record, since the accords with the Breen, they have been model neighbors. Aside from the fact that they have no appriciation for Kanar.

Kanar... HA! You've not enjoyed a drink until you've split a barrel of Bloodwine with a Klingon!

As the voice of the NPT the Federation is informing the Romulans that there will be a similar but new set of conditions which will be disclosed soon as the final details have been finalized.

We have little appreciation for beverages of any kind, in fact.

We look forward to discussing these conditions.

We also apologize to the Cardassians for our nosiness... its a bad habit.
