Since there is no single type of computer like there is with consoles 'PC' or 'computer' takes the place of the console name. ex: Star Trek Voyager Elite force is a PS2 and PC game.

BTW, Kendall - was the ref from "Big Bang Theory?"

From Disney's Dinosaur:

"Why doesn't he let them accept their fate? I've accepted mine."
"And, what is your fate?"
"To die here. It's the way things are."
"Only if you give up, Bruton. It's your choice, not your fate."

No, everyone doesn't know that. There's a whole great shedload of people out there who know nothing about games consoles and the games played on them, and have no wish to know. I'm a proud member of that group!

Dammit - I knew that. That was after Number One landed his desk at the end, right?

I'm not sure where you got that from. Even if it was suggesting a group as idiots it would be refering to people who can't keep up with modern terminology.

You used disdainful language to refer to someone who didn't - not COULDN'T - use the same vernacular as you.

I wonder if he thinks people in the UK are out of touch because they call gasoline "petrol".

Why would they call gas "petrol"? What is a petrol anyway?

Petrolium is the original/classic term for gasoline/oil. The short form is petrol.

Wow. I've never been in the UK in my life, but I know what petrol is. In fact, the word "petroleum is in common usage in teh US, and it's no great leap to put it together, especially since the word "petrol" is invariably used around cars.

Oh...I didn't make the connection there. I've heard Petrolium, but I haven't heard it shortened to just 'petrol'. On another cultural difference note, while they're originally called bubblers many people erronously call them 'water fountains' or 'drinking fountains' instead. I always found 'water fountain' amusing since that's what you find in the middle of a park. And to be clear the reason why bubbler is the correct term is because they were first manufactured by Kohler, a company founded in Wisconsin(although they do now have factories throughout the US), and are the ones who coined the term bubbler.

Now to get back on topic I bring a Star Trek related quote.

"Where are the freaking Borg? I hate this creeping around when I could be kicking Borg butt. Uh... No offense ma'am. I mean... as Borg butt goes... you got..."
"Don't dig yourself in any deeper Mr. Beissman."
