Favorite Quotes

Post by Blackstar the Chakat »

Now we have a favorite movie quotes topic, but there are other places where you can find quotes. Books, comics, TV, internet forums, or just general talking. Here are a few of quotes I like:

From Doctor Who:

Doctor:We might die
Martha: We might not
Doctor: Good

The Doctor: [Momentarily speechless] Humans! We're stuck on the moon, running out of air, with Judoon and a bloodsucking criminal, and you're asking personal questions?! Come on!

From the Ghost Hunters series:

Brian Harnois: Dude, run

Steve Gonsalves: [about wearing a "Dude, run!" hat] How can you take something so negative and celebrate it?
Brian Harnois: Do you have a catch phrase?

[repeated line]
Grant Wilson: What the frig?

[Directed to spirits that may be present]
Brian Harnois: Is there anybody that would like to play with us tonight?
[Upon realizing what he had just said]
Brian Harnois: That sounded all kinds of wrong

Some stuff I've said:

Blackstar: What the hey?

Blackstar: Of coarse we see more Klingon ships. The Romulan ships are all cloaked

Blackstar: Great minds don't think alike. They Plagiarize.

Blackstar: The only reason I don't compleatly suck is because I make an effort.

From my stories:

Parishka Clone #2: Every copy has to have an original

Tex: I have video footage of you straddling a photon torpedo like that dude in Armageddon on the nuke when he went nuts

Blackstar: I just can't stand needless drama, so I fired two warning shots.
Sly: Into her head?

Blackstar: This blows

Parishka Prime: If I were Parishka were would I go? Wait. Did I just say if I were Parishka?

Perhaps you should credit the song "Cell Block Tango" from the musical Chicago, from where that was paraphrased.

Here a couple of my faves:

Teach me not the art of remembering, but the art of forgetting, for I remember things I do not wish to remember, but I cannot forget things I wish to forget.
- Themistocles

The eternal mystery of the world is its comprehensibility.
- Albert Einstein

The way to hump a cow, my firend, is not the way you think.
- e e cummings

Listen up, you primitive screwheads!
- Ash, Army of Darkness

She can dance a cajun rhythm
Jump like a Willy in four-wheel drive
She's a summer love in the spring, fall, and winter
She can make happy any man alive
- "Sugar Magnolia," Garcia/Hunter, performed by The Grateful Dead
I can't stand nothing dull
I got the high gloss luster
I'll massacre your ass as fast

Clearly you weren't referring to your spelling.

Here's one I had forgotten, credited to my daughter. She was a little under two years old when she met my sister-in-law's new Chihuahua, and apparently made a mental comparison with our 80-lb. mutt. On seeing the 5-lb Chihuahua, she said:

"It's almost like a dog!"

Ugh, I can't stand those little bastards.

Anything under 20 lbs., or wearing a sweater, shouldn't really be classified as a dog.

I know. Ugly little things.

There's one at the end of my road who is often seen sitting in his owner's garden barking at anyone walking by. Oddly enough, he never barks whenever I happen to walk past with my dogs.

I also can't stand it when people dress their dogs. I always get the impression that the dogs themselves are just waiting for the opportune moment to tear the larynx out of the person who forced them to wear that frilly little sweater.

The only dog clothes I've seen to be useful were on a German Shepherd (Alsatian) who used to vist the same dog park I did. His owner would bring him on his Harley-Davidson Electra Glide, and the dog had leathers and goggles (the brand name was "Doggles," I think.)

Agreed. The whole thing just looks incredibly stupid.
