Re: The Dark Knight
Which mindset do you mean, the one where he just wants to destroy, or the one where he claims that if anyone has a bad enough day, they will be just like him.

Aye, there are a few moments that you don't see coming, which is quite good, IMO.

Re: The Dark Knight
I thought the best revelation about his character was the second time he explained his disfigurement, (spoiler below!)
it was a completely different story from the first time.

Re: The Dark Knight
I got fairly upset on Xmas, becasue I picked out my present from my G'ma, and I go The Dark Knight 2-disk bonus edition.
Then on Xmas day, I got space cowboys (another fairly good movie IMO) I wound up gettin TDK two days later when we did Xmas with the whole big family, but I was rather upset I didn't get it on Xmas.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Really? My daughter expressed dissapointment about a gift she got, and the next the she got was a swat on the bottom for being ungrateful.

Re: The Dark Knight
Don't get me wrong, I like Space Cowboy's but it's like thinking your about to get a car, then winding up with a hotwheels. You may like it, but it's still going to be a little disappointing.

How about the chance to win a Toy-Yoda?

Re: The Dark Knight
I was thinking about that. That was one joke that was way over the top. I would've sued in her place as well, getting her hopes up like that. You shouldn't screw with poor people who may need a vehicle by tricking them into thinking they've won one. I don't recall if she got a car or not, but I think she did.Coalition wrote:How about the chance to win a Toy-Yoda?

Re: The Dark Knight
Really, I have no sympathy for what's-her-name who sued over that thing. She didn't pay anything to enter, she didn't lose anything. The whole thing is just "Those mean people hurt my feelings! I deserve lots and lots of money!"
Was the joke stupid and in bad taste? Yup. Is the woman in question being an idiot? Yup.

She just wanted the car that was promised.Rochey wrote:Really, I have no sympathy for what's-her-name who sued over that thing. She didn't pay anything to enter, she didn't lose anything. The whole thing is just "Those mean people hurt my feelings! I deserve lots and lots of money!"

Were it me, I'd have settled for breaking the DJ's jaw; that would've been good enough for me.
Like I said, it's not cool to screw with poor people. " Hey, you won a free vacation!" "Really!?" " No, I'm just messin' with you."
It's rude.
I think this sums it up quite nicely.

Re: The Dark Knight
They promised something that was pronounced similar to "Toyota". They never said "You'll win a Toyota car".She just wanted the car that was promised.
Heartily seconded. Were it me, I'd have settled for breaking the DJ's jaw; that would've been good enough for me.
I agree. It's the height of assholery. That doesn't entitle her to a tonne of money.Like I said, it's not cool to screw with poor people. " Hey, you won a free vacation!" "Really!?" " No, I'm just messin' with you."

Sorry, I meant "I'm pretty sure she just sued for the car".Rochey wrote:I agree. It's the height of assholery. That doesn't entitle her to a tonne of money.

Re: The Dark Knight
And I still don't see how she's entitled to that, either. The show never said "you'll get a car", it said "you'll get a Toyota". While it's the height of jackassery to hand out a toy Yoda instead, I don't see how it's sueable. She paid nothing, she was not harmed, she lost nothing.Sorry, I meant "I'm pretty sure she just sued for the car".

Re: The Dark Knight
I agree with Rochey. The guy was a jackass, and should have been censured or something; but the largest award she should have been given is what she paid out to enter the contest; i.e, nothing.
