Didn't you see Batman Begins? Great film.Mikey wrote:I'm excited - somewhat. I haven't been thrilled with the film treatments of Frank Miller yet.

No, they drew from Miller's material, but it was its own story; I meant that this is a sequel to Begins.Mikey wrote:Was that from a Frank Miller book?

Totally agreed. It's almost like studios finally realized that actual story + realism = good movie and good returns.Monroe wrote:I really liked Batman Begins despite being really skeptical. This new serious look into hero movies seems to pay off. Bond's just the same way.

I would stake money on his performance in this, if I were a gambling person. The role got into his head so much that he couldn't sleep, and ended up od'ing on perscription pills. I'd say he put a lot into it.Mikey wrote:That is really the only way to translate Frank Miller. However, this film has Heath Ledger in it, which as I've said is a dubious note.

I dunno. I rather liked the REALLY old style bonds, with the weird death machines and Oddjobb and all that. Do you expect me to talk? Heh. I mean, i'm all for realism in mostmovies - after all, im the one who complained loudly during both the Torchwood season finale and the last Dr who about the directors completley fluffing nuclear saftey protocols - But at the same time i like the over the top Blowfeld style bond villains and traps. Im just a sucker for Art Deco, i suppose =pMonroe wrote:I really liked Batman Begins despite being really skeptical. This new serious look into hero movies seems to pay off. Bond's just the same way.
I really need to catch batman begins. I think i avoided it the first time because the adverts gave the idea that most of it would be Bruce Wayne moping around being depressed. Which, yeah, is understandable seeing ashis parents were killed, but as Spiderman 3 shows, gets boring after about the 8th shot of it. Well, that or unintentionally funny. Hehe, emo spider man xD

What I was referring to is the fact that Ned Kelly was the only role in which I liked Ledger's performance.Monroe wrote:What are you talking about? That role is to die for.Mikey wrote:That is really the only way to translate Frank Miller. However, this film has Heath Ledger in it, which as I've said is a dubious note.

July 24th!
Absolutely loved Batman Begins - my favourite superhero film ever, and still up there in any genre - so can't wait for this.
