Remember where you are!!! Actually, even though I haven't watched it since it was on, B5 did have some really cool ships, and some really good stories.Deepcrush wrote:B5 I think was just a better show the Trek. The writers put THOUGHT into what they were doing.

Eh, most people who've seen it (IE, most people on this board) generaly agree it was better than most Trek.Remember where you are!!!
As for the B5 ships, the best thing about them (IMO) is that they managed to look great, while still keeping a sane design practice with few design flaws (well, the Omega is riddled with flaws, but that's the exception).

I thnk the Omega fit well with the EA. THey wanted a super ship to match everyone else. Problem being that the EA tech base wasnt' able to produce it. So they ended up with a ship that just couldn't live up to what they wanted. Though, it does seem to work well as a carrier. The one thing EA did have going for it was the Starfury.

I think thats where B5 gets it. Even if the writers can't make something work, the work it into the show instead of changing everything to make it all work in the ships favour. The Omega didn't do its job. Okay fair enough, but it still possesses the traits an Earth Alliance cruiser should have.

Big guns that miss, loads of fighters as thats the only thing EA did right and in the end tries to look tough yet fail...

The Narn did the same. The G'Quan looks quite advanced but in reality its not all that capable.

The G'Quan didn't carry as many fighters but was at least able to hit targets at long range.

Quite true. But on the technological scale, if i remember correctly that is, the G'Quan is no more technologically advanced than an Omega.

True, the Q'Quan seemed to trade her fighters for better and likely a much larger targetting system.

She certainly was effective. if i remember correctly, one G'Quan, technically inferior, managed to eliminate a Primus.

That she did. Though, to be honest. The G'Quan carried to very high powered forward cannon. Knowing the Centari lack for armour, it doesn't shock me that a couple of solid hits would take down a Primus.

Indeed. Plus the Primus is rather an relic compared to the G'Quan or Omega, or even the newer Vorchan.

Re: What would you fix on the E-D?
Not just a relic but a poor ship in general. They traded armour for a hull based energy sheild. This was because the Narns first fought back with fighters and the shield was useful agaisnt them... some what... Still, armour would have been better. If you look at how the G'Quan fights, you catch on that its a newer version of the Primus. The Primus is the normal ship for supporting planet based operations. A slow but heavily armed ship. The G'Quan is the same except the Narns added a heavy load out of armour to their ships. A simple yet effective way of gaining an advantage over the Centari. The Vorchan however removed this. The G'Quan while a good ship just wasn't a match.

Some of the changes already happened in canon, you guys know that.
And about the Iconian Virus-it was fricking SUPER ADVANCED. Even with Firewalls and everything, they would have made absolutely NO difference.

Such as?Some of the changes already happened in canon, you guys know that.
We've been over that scenario before. There should have been no way for the virus to get into the computers at all without someone on the ship letting it.And about the Iconian Virus-it was fricking SUPER ADVANCED. Even with Firewalls and everything, they would have made absolutely NO difference.
And since when was it "super advanced"?
And that one incident is completely irrelevant, anyway. We've seen numerous times that alien races can walk onto a Fed ship and hack their computers in seconds. Hell, even that fracking Kazon managed to do it to Voyager.
