I am pretty blunt and open in real life, if I dont like you I wont bother with you at all. I am also kind of... hardcore I guess, I'm a very intence person, odd considering how laid back I am around here most of the time.

I am also generally considered to be sarcasitc and a smartarse in RL which I guess doesnt come across here since humor doesnt carry very well in written form.

Quite often I'll read a post and instantly think of something clever or witty or smartarse to say to it but usually wont post it since things like sarcasum are hard to get across even with emoticons which I really hate using. Most of the time I'll just think something but post something else.

A lot of humor comes from the way a joke is told and the body language involved. You just dont get that in written form.

Online I'm the same as in RL. I don't see any reason to hide myself behind anything or pretend to be something I'm not.

Same here. I'm the same online as I am in reality.

Yeah, I express the same base personality here that I have in RL, but I have a harder time expressing it as freely in the real world as I can online (l'd tend to look a little more wooden). If/when I "loosen up" in RL, I'd be basically the same.

I don't have much personality in RL. I think that comes through effectively online.

Me, I'm the same online as in real life.
Except my spelling is better online.

Oh, and in real life, I am a nervous wreak around girls my own age (though now, I gues they are women). Think of Lt.Barkley. Online, people are genderless to me.

I just don't have the intelligence/time/giving-a-damn to make up a whole new personality out of whole cloth for online stuff. Why bother?

I don't think it's about being a different person online, but rather expressing yourself differently online; it's doubtful many here consciously try to adopt a totally different persona online. Consider the examples of myself and a few others who are more comfortable expressing themselves - with their full range of wit, sarcasm, humor, etc - online than in person.

I can only really express my self overtly online. Its sorta taboo in my house and my neighbourhood especially.

Yeah, imagine how bad my spelling is without a spellchecker.

Oh about the same. Except my DITL posts aren't draped in anything flamboyant as my body often is.
