Haha, that's pretty good. Most of what I've heard is a variation on the "got any Newfie in you?" Or a drink offer, around here it doesn't seem to require much effort to get laid. I'm a few years out of date but it seems the older you are, the easier it gets. Just because thirty year olds don't want to waste the effort to get what they want (ie: playing games).Mikey wrote:Ever try, "Want to go to dinner? ...no? Then how about a BJ?"

I think people just start viewing romance and sex more realistically as they get older, too. I noticed I'm much less picky than I used to be. And that's not because I was "too strict" before and couldn't get laid, but I think younger people tend to be more insecure people... you want to find someone to show off, etc., are more easily embarrassed. I'm 29 now and I don't really give a rat's ass what someone thinks of who I am dating anymore. When you're 17 or 18 though and all your h.s. friends monitor your every move and make fun of every imperfection in anyone you date, it's harder.Cpl Kendall wrote:Haha, that's pretty good. In addition, it's an old saw, but its true: the harder you try, the less succesful you will be. I suppose a certain degree of self-assuredness or a more philosophical outlook come with age, and help ramp down that "please, please, PLEASE" vibe.
I can't stand nothing dull
I got the high gloss luster
I'll massacre your ass as fast

Seems to fit, I notice the people in my age bracket who have no luck are the ones who are picky and have the same outlook as they did at 19, the perfect mate syndrome.Duskofdead wrote:

True, if you can smell the desperation rolling off them then you most likely won't stick around. Far be it for someone to turn down casual sex but there's a threshold to it.In addition, it's an old saw, but its true: the harder you try, the less succesful you will be. From another thread. I used a buffet analogy to describe casual sex and one-night stands. Every once in a while, you find something great, but you also occasionally get food poisoning. I prefer to special-order (to continue the analogy). As in, when I know I like something a lot, there's no reason to sample.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

Well yeah. I prefer a relationship as well but when there wasn't one, I wouldn't object to casual sex. I didn't make a habit of it though. I know at least one guy who said he'd rather jerk off than bother with picking someone up.Tsukiyumi wrote:From another thread. I used a buffet analogy to describe casual sex and one-night stands. I'm married so there's no reason to sample, and if she died I wouldn't bother.
Edit: Jeebus I'm a bag of hammers trying to get my thoughts out tonight. Clarified.
