Thanks. They've burst before. Wasn't that expensive, but cost a pretty penny.McAvoy wrote:Hope it doesn't it either. Burst pipes are never easy and cheap to fix. Nearly 20 years ago, a frozen pipe burst under the garage's concrete slab and $30,000 later with a rebuilt garage floor and a completely flooded basement and TV room or was all fixed.
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
The part about it being under concrete probably drove the price up considerably.

Well, the pipes are clear. No damage, thank god.
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Got a call to one of my best friends I havent seen in years. Him and his ex-wife were my roommates years ago. His ex-wife was dangerously unstable. Eventually she tore me and him apart through her bullshit. Well afterwards without anyone to blame her problems on, my friend eventually started to stand up to her. One day she got up and left, leaving their two boys with him. Two years ago she again contacted me apologizing about her behavior. Anyway never really believed her bullshit then and never believed it now. I finally got the other half of the story tonight.
Though I find it funny my friend used Facebook to contact me. I remember him not understanding how to even use a mobile phone or the internet.

Halfway through the first day "live" with the insulin pump... not only have I so far avoided assuming room temperature, but it seems to be fairly easy to use and shows promise of tighter BG control.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Of course, now that I mentioned it my BG readings after breakfast were astronomical. However, that's happened on more than one occasion while on injections, and it seemed a lot easier to rein it in with this contraption in me. Probably more a function of the respiratory bug I've got more than what I ate and infused.
