Anybody make Spore creatures?
I've only just started getting into the Spore creature Creator, but I have to say it's a fantastic little program.
Some of my beasties so far :
Arakellan : a swamp creature which spends most of it's time rooting through the mud for frog-sized prey.
Razormouth : A nasty predator
Noakatau : A sort of half bird, half dinosaur creature
What I love about it is that it's so incredibly useable. I knew absolutely nothing about Spore, but within fifteen minutes of starting it up I had the first creature done, just by playing about with the controls. It's a fantastic way to generate alien creature ideas!

As an experiment, I tried remaking an alien I drew in Photoshop, the Kuari, in Spore :

Your big reptiles are smiling, and it's making me nervous.
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Smiling is fine - it's only got one eye, be sacred if it tries performing any dentistry on you.Mark wrote:Your big reptiles are smiling, and it's making me nervous.
I can't stand nothing dull

Lol, lil one eye is an intelligent guy, he's no more likely to try and eat you than you are to try and eat him...

The creature creator is available for the PC for £5.
The full game (which includes the creature creator) costs £20.
One can find them on torrent sites like http://isohunt.com/ for free, but of course that is illegal and you should never, ever do it.

Oh, of course.
Besides I think I want the whole thing. Make a bunch of different creatures and then have them battle to the DEATH!

I've not played the full game but I understand that's pretty much what happens. You get points for winning fights, and use it to add more and better bits to your creature so it can win more fights, etc.

Re: Anybody make Spore creatures?
That's if you choose the carnivore path. If you choose the herbivore path, you have to make friends with the other critters to earn your points and new evolution parts. Or you can choose omnivore and try to do both and fail since you're gimped with both options.

What kind of graphical requirements are there? (My old PC at home is a bit rubbish)
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!
