US presidential elections and the wider world

I've been in the urban South (Atlanta, New Orleans) and the not-so-urban (Biloxi, Mississippi.) The cities are just cities with a different accent and more C&W bars; in the other areas, I was afraid to let anyone know I was a Jew, lest I become a new species of strange fruit.

Romney won Michigan.

Hillary tied with 'Undecided'. lol Obama and Edwards weren't on the ballot and the vote didn't count but she even lost to 'Undecided' in many counties.

Well, considering I'd support a dead, rotting duck-billed platypus over Romney (vivid metaphor, eh? eh?:P ), color me disappointed... Hopefully he'll get his butt kicked in South Carolina, though.

Ha! Well, I can't speak for the rural south, but around here most Evangelicals consider Israel to be the Chosen Nation, and anyone who doesn't praise it an Evil Anti-Semitic Nazi, so I don't think you'd have much of a problem here...except for all those rabid Baptists; they can be mighty vicious when they get roused.

I've been in more then one "fisted" conversation with others over my family and who it supported (A fond memory of a chair being crashed over my head in the fifth grade). My family was and is southern red but it fought for the north and so my family isnt' welcome south of VA-NC line. I know that with VA, pride is huge. Not so much in WV though, which is where my family comes from. Before that, Scotland! I think there is some Irish in my mom's side somewhere and my dads mom married from german stock.
