I'm really sorry, Preston.

Real sorry, Pres. My own pup pisses me off no end sometimes (like last night, when he was digging in some clothes and breaking into the closet at 3 am,) but when I picked him up from boarding it was still great to see him. Goodbye, Gray.

The only thing I miss about living with my parents is having a dog around. Living alone and working odd hours means its not really practical for me to have one atm, and I'm trying to avoid having too many ties.

I daresay i'll be relying on one for company in later life.

Mikey wrote: BTW, @ Ian - I had the opportunity to try the Macallan's Fine Oak 10-year-old. Pretty good, but not at all what i expected. To me, it had a very pristine, clean taste without much of the smokiness or pettiness I had come to expect... probably a result of not absorbing any tannin esters from the previous tenant of the barrel.
The fine oak isn't a bad whiskey, by any stretch, but the 18 year old sherry oak is one of the best on the planet. The sherry oak is much deeper in colour and has a richer flavour. Either way The Macallen isn't a very peaty whiskey, not every scotch is. Some are spicy and smoky, I particularly like Talisker 10 year old for that. Some peaty Lagavulin 16 year old is very good example of that. Others smooth, The Macallan and Edradour. Edradour comes from the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland.

Man, that sounds good.

How much is a bottle of that? $200?

Dunno. The Macallan Fine Oak 10-year was $12.60 for a neat one. I think Johnny Walker Blue Label goes for around $250/bottle.

BTW, so Colm doesn't get upset... I had a neat Jameson, too. ;)

Well I officially no longer live at home. Got moved into my dorm today, roommate wont move in until Sunday, and classes start monday, so I'll have to find something to entertain myself for the next couple days.

I was thinking probably something a bit more social than that to be honest....

the University has a new rec center I might check out, I may also go argue until I'm blue in the face to have them let me tutor as a freshman.

A typical malt (single source scotch, like the Edradour, Talisker or Lagavulin) is about £35 - £40 for a 70cl bottle. The Macallan 18 year old is £80 a bottle. That said you can pay as much as you want. For example a 'Lagavulin 1993 | Festival 2007' bottle will set you back about £450

Getting ready to head out for the KISS concert tonight. Also, I'm prepping for neck trauma. ;)

And here I'd heard that Gene Simmons was a gentle lover.

Well, we got a new roommate that moved in, so the financial burdens are a little lighter. Only problem is I'm living with a guy now, and I've had a total of 20 minutes of coversation time with him.

My other roommate found this guy and he moved in on Wed. I come home last night, and my roommate is installing a key lock on his bedroom door.

Very reassuring.
