Don't worry, I'll steer clear of Jersey, the roads suck, horribly. And from what I've seen, it's Jersey drivers that are the worst. Just saying

Right, sorry. I guess I was so ticked off that I couldn't even pick the proper thread.Captain Seafort wrote:Hey, Mikey, the ranting thread's that way --->
Actually, we're the ones who know (unlike New Yorkers) that the left lane of the Parkway is for people to go faster than the cars in the center and right lanes. And we're not the ones who cause massive jams because we can't read the umpteen signs which say which side of the toll plaza is for EZ-Pass, or which exit for Seaside or the AC Expressway.Nickswitz wrote:Don't worry, I'll steer clear of Jersey, the roads suck, horribly. Actually, I'd say that the NY'ers are the ones who have it right - if you want to go faster than everyone else you should be in the right-most lane.Mikey wrote:Actually, we're the ones who know (unlike New Yorkers) that the left lane of the Parkway is for people to go faster than the cars in the center and right lanes.

Good - let them go have their beach vacations in f***ing Cornwall, then.Captain Seafort wrote:Actually, I'd say that the NY'ers are the ones who have it right - if you want to go faster than everyone else you should be in the right-most lane.Mikey wrote:Actually, we're the ones who know (unlike New Yorkers) that the left lane of the Parkway is for people to go faster than the cars in the center and right lanes.
And unfortunately, you'd be wrong even then, because they don't go any faster or slower in any particular lane.

Well, you obviously don't know the New Yorkers I know, they shoot through every roadway we have here... And if you don't go 70 in the 60-65 spots you get run down.

Yeah, 80-90 is typical for the 55 zones on the Parkway. The point is that they don't get the distinction between the uses of the different lanes.

That's just reckless....
And I can't say anything about that, I know the distinction between the lanes, as long as they are marked correctly (as in have names to them, such as EZpass, Express, etc.). IDK about other New Yorkers... My mom and dad are pretty good with the lanes... It's the exits in Jersey that posses us New Yorkers off mostly.

Re: A new random thread
That's bad enough, as the lanes are all clearly marked in advance - what I'm talking about is something as simple as "left lane = faster than the others."

God, sounds like people drive just as fast and crappy up there as they do down here.

Bad driving is sadly a universal phenomenon.

Yeah, except around here a diesel F250 isn't considered a "family sedan."Tsukiyumi wrote:God, sounds like people drive just as fast and crappy up there as they do down here.

Ah, the good old S trucks. You have the V6? That was one of the best engines GM ever made. Keep oil in it, and it'll run until Doomsday. The older ones had some throttle body issues, but the newer ones corrected it with direct injection. When the S trucks went out of production, it hit central Jersey pretty damned hard - the Linden plant closed.
