This talk of a battle btw a Miranda and BoP really has me itching to try it out. Anyone ever played Star Fleet Battles? How's the learning curve?

Nope, the only way I've worked out any fights is with our Demo Battle system that Sunnyside set up and Rochey ran for a while.

It was a long time ago (last year I think), and is probably burried deep within the Books Games and General section.

Here we go. Your GCS versus Deep's Lakota.

Re: Miranda vs Klingon Bird of Prey
So was that a fun experiment? Worth resurrecting? I don't have the time for it, what am I talking about? I would be interested at some point in hearing how you guys went about that. Was it based on Warhammer, or any existing combat system?

Yes. Probably. No idea. With great difficulty and much enjoyment. No.

Yes.

I take it DC's Lakota won? Let me guess. He banged into your nacelle?

Well, in my light... Skill of crew and captain (ME!) plus the true greatness of the Excelsior design.
In Rochey's defense, he sucked.

What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

In my defence I was stuck on the most shitastic excuse for a spaceship that ever had the misfortune of flying through space. It's a miracle I did any damage in the thing.
