Name Description
Vidiian [1] Vidiian language at first view looks as if it doesn't carry enough information for a communications system. However, subtle veriations in like thickness and orientation and bends and augmentations like dots and slashes all add to the required complexity. [1]
Trill [1] Trill is fairly unique in being based upon a triangular basis. [1]
Kohl [1] The Kohl where a species from the Delta quadrant who had entered into an artificial reality system in order to survive a natural disaster. Unfortunately the system turned against them and its AI system was tormenting the occupants when when discovered by USS Voyager, who helped them escape. [2]
D'Arsay pictograms [1] The D'Arsay archive featured writing in the form of pictograms. [1]
Retellian [1] Retellian language is based on a series of pictographs that almost look like people in different orientations. [1]
Reman pictograms [1] Reman pictograms. The Reman's were the poor relations in the Reomulan system. They fell foul of the Romulan aggressive nature and became a slave race, often woking in dark mines. It is often lit to help with poor eyesight. [1]
Pralor [1] Pralor writing is almost reminiscent of a horizontal game of Tetris, which is somewhat ironic given that the Pralor race was wiped out by their AI creations. [1]
Klingon [1] Klingon is one of the more well-known alien languages, partially because of the duration of Human-Klingon contact. Dating back to the says of Captain Archer. Their use of the language on banners also adds familiarity with the language. [3] Improved Federation - Klingon relations following the Dominion war also help. [4]
Kazon [1] Kazon is yet another Delta quardrant language that uses a multi-line multi connected elements to add more meaning to the writing. [1]
Kantarean [5] Kantarean language from the Alpha Quadrant. [5]
Jem'Hadar [1] Jem'Hadar is very similar to Banean in format with it's multi-line and multi connected script. [1]
Gorn [6] Gorn text is largely circular with many inidividual circles in multiple arrangements. [7]
Romulan [1] Given that the Romulan and Vulcan's come from a common race once would think that the writing styles would have some similarities. However, the ancient form of Vulcan is radically different from modern Romulan. showing just how much a language can diverge over a long time. [1]
Ferengi [1] Ferengi language features a blocky script with rounded and chunky lettering. [1]
Banean [1] Banean is a multiline script with connections between both other lines and other elements on the same line. [1]
Bajoran [1] Bajoran language consists of glyphs for each sound and is similar to to earths oriental language in this aspect, however, there are few actual symbols making it more work like earths western scripts. [1]
Bahrat [1] Bahrat language consisted from blocked elements on a diagonal slant to the right. [1]
Ancient Vulcan [1] Ancient Vulcan's use a script constructed with a sharp pointer into spiral and curved patterns. [1]
