Notes

The Type 0 shuttlepod was a fairly standard shuttle designed to carry six persons and a small amount of cargo from orbit to a planetary surface and back again. The craft were designed to be launched and recovered by a docking arm which attached to the roof, and had both an overhead access hatch and a side door. [3] NX class vessels carried two of these pods, [6] which had a maximum speed of one quarter impulse. [5]

Comments

The Type 0 shuttle is my personal name for the shuttlepod seen in Enterprise. I use Type 0 simply because I already tagged the TOS shuttle as the Type 1; I had considered going with the Type 13 or 14, because it seems that there may be two shuttle numbering runs going on. Full shuttles run from about the Type 4 through to the Type 11, but the pods get higher numbers of 15 and 16. In the end I decided against this.

The shuttles were stated in "Shuttlepod One" to carry two plasma cannon, yet in "Detained" we see Trip fire what look like phase cannon bursts from his shuttle. In the later "Desert Crossing" they're back to the pulses fired by plasma cannon again. So either one shuttle carries plasma cannon and the other carries phase cannon, or the crew fitted one (or both) shuttles with phase cannon for a while and then removed them again, or plasma cannon can fire both pulses and continuous streams.
