Admiral April used a shuttle of this type to track down Captain Pike when he refused to answer his communicator. Pike was subsequently transferred to the USS Enterprise aboard another shuttle of this class, the Stamets, which took him to the location of the Enterprise and then beamed him aboard. [1]
