Veridian III

Planets List
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Veridian III [1]

The third planet in the Veridian system. Veridian II was a Class M world but did not have a sentient native population. Dr Tolian Soren set up his Trilithium weapon here in 2371, intending to use it to destroy the Veridian star and so alter the course of the nexus, allowing him to enter it. The plan succeeded, destroying Veridian II and all the other planets in the system. Fortunately Captain Picard and Admiral Kirk were able to travel back in time and prevent Soren from launching his weapon, moving those events into an alternate timeline. Captain Kirk was killed in the effort, and was buried in a stone cairn on a mountaintop on the planet.

The Enterprise-D engaged in battle with a Klingon Bird of Prey in orbit of Veridian system, leading to the loss of the ship. The saucer section crashlanded on Veridian III. The bulk of the crew survived and were subsequently rescued. [1]
