A Klingon planet close to the Taurus Reach. In 2265 the the Tholians destroyed the Klingon military base on the planet Dorala in retaliation for the Klingon attack on the Tholian military outpost on Zenstala II. [29] |
Dorvan V [150] |
Near the Cardassian border [150] |
Dosi planet |
The Dosi planet visited by Quark in an attempt to strike a deal for 100,000 vats of Tulaberry Wine. [155] |
Dozaria [156] |
Class M world with hot, desertlike climate [156] |
Draken IV [36] |
Federation planet. N'Vek wanted to head to Draken IV as part of the plot to assist M'Ret's defection to the Federation in 2369. The planet was the site of archeological finds which related to the Vulcans, and was a possible target for Baran's mercenary group in 2370. [36] |
Draken IV [49] |
A planet two days away from the Kaleb sector. Draken IV is the location of a Starfleet outpost. In 2369 Romulan dissidents planned to deliver a defecting Vice-Proconsul to Draken IV. [49] |
Drayan II [157] |
Several moons [157] |
Draygo IV [158] |
Within three light years of Cardassian space [158] |
Draylax [138] |
Planet visited by Ensign Mayweather prior to 2151. The women of Draylax have three of something, though it unclear what. [138] |
Draylon II [159] |
An uninhabited class M planet near Sefalla Prime. Draylon II has a stable orbit, a temperate climate, very low surface radiation, plus good soil and a long growing season. In 2370 three million Skreean settlers colonised Draylon II after being refused permission to take up residence on Bajor. [159] |
Drema IV [54] |
Suffered violent geologic instabilities as a result of dilithium deposits [54] |
Dreon VII [160] |
Near the Badlands [160] |
Droplet [31] |
The fourth planet of the UFC 86783 system - named as New Kaferia by the Stellar Cartography department on the USS Titan since the star was very similar to Kaferia’s star Tau Ceti - Droplet was a Léger-type ocean planet. It was Class O, subclass L1. It had a lower density than Earth but was larger, giving it about three times the total mass. Nearly half of that mass was water ice. [31]
Droplet had a metal core thirty seven hundred kilometres deep, surrounded by nearly three thousand kilometres of silicate rock. Above that was a mantle of high-pressure allotropic ice over four thousand kilometres deep. Above the ice was an ocean of liquid water some ninety kilometres deep. [31]
The planet was in an unusually wide orbit around the sun, but had a tropical climate due to the considerable greenhouse in the atmosphere combined with convection currents in the oceans which brought heat up from the bottom. [31]
Unusually for such worlds, Droplet was inhabited by a variety of life forms including higher-order life. Although there was no solid land, the surface was dotted with floating islands composed of a coral-like substance created by living beings. [31]
The USS Titan discovered Droplet in 2381, the ship's first stop on the exploratory mission which it resumed after the Borg crisis earlier that year. [31] |
Dulisian IV [161] |
Planet somewhere in the vicinity of Romulan space. In 2368 the Romulans fakes a distress call from Dulisian IV in an attempt to draw the Enterprise-D away from their planned surprise attack on Vulcan. [161] Since the call claimed a failure of life support on the planet, it may possibly be an uninhabitable world which holds a sealed colony. |
Durenia IV [19] |
Destination of Enterprise-D in 2367 [19] |
Dyson Sphere [162] |
Not actually a planet but a planet equivalent- a spherical shell surrounding a star and providing an area equal to over 250 million Class M planets. [162] |
Dytallix B [163] |
Also known as Mira Antilla V, this is the fifth of six planets orbiting the gas giant Mira in the Mira system. One side of Dytallix B permanently faces the sun. Surface temperatures reach 180 degrees on this hemisphere as a result. Mining took place on the planet for the Federation, carried out by the Dytallix mining company. Mining facilities are situated in the temperate zone between the day and night sides of the planet, but by 2364 these were deserted. There are no native inhabitants or life forms on the planet.
