A resident of the Mirror universe, Bareil was a thief who journeyed to our universe via a multidimensional transporter. He intended to steal the Orb of Prophecy and Change, and struck up a romantic relationship with Major Kira to facilitate this. He was working in co-operation with Intendent Kira, and hoped to use the Orb to unite the Mirror Bajoran people against the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. On the verge of success, Mirror Bareil abandoned his plan and returned to his own universe without the Orb. [1]
