A Lokirrim starship captain, Ranek patrolled his people's space searching for holographic life forms which were rebelling against the government. He attempted to destroy the EMH when he encountered the Delta Flyer; Seven of Nine transferred the program into her neural implants to save him. While the Doctor was inhabiting Seven's body Ranek developed an attraction for her. The EMH saved Ranek's life when he was injured during an attempt by Captain Janeway attempted to recover her crewmembers. [1]
