In an alternate timeline created by McCoy, she achieved some prominence and managed to delay the entry of the United States into World War II, allowing the Nazis to win the war and ultimately preventing the formation of the Federation. Kirk allowed Keeler to die in spite of his love for her so that the original timeline would be restored. [1]
