TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Dak'Rah [1]
Species : Klingons

Dak'Rah, son of Ra'Ul, was a male Klingon General in the Klingon defence force. During the Federation - Klingon he served on J'Gal. After the war was over he defected to the Federation and became an ambassador. [1]

He claimed that his father taught him about war and bloodshed, and his mother how to see and feel. As usual for a Klingon child, he was introduced to the strategy text mL'parmaq Qoj at the tender age of seven. [1]

Along with his exploits on J'Gal he was also responsible for a "slaughter" at Lembatta V and the siege of Starbase Zetta. He had three warlords subordinate to him on J'Gal; General Gra'val, Commander Kiff, and Captain Ruh'lis. He gave them orders to kill on sight all those on J'Gal that were not Klingon warriors. This resulted in the mass torture and murder of over a thousand civilians at the Athos colony. This earnt him the name of the Butcher of J'Gal, even amongst the other Klingons [1]

Starfleet special forces attempted to assassinate him, but the mission failed with almost complete casualties. When the Federation began evacuating from J'Gal, Doctor Joseph M'Benga decided to try and assassinate him personally in an attempt to end the massacre. While he was dispatching Gra'val, Kiff, and Ruh'lis in hand-to-hand combat, Dak'Rah managed to flee. [1]

When Dak'Rah subsequently defected to the Federation; he claimed that the acts committed on J'Gal had been caused by his three senior officers, and that he was the one that killed them in disgust. [1] For his actions he was declared a war criminal by the Klingons and the rest of his house suffered discommendation. [2]

As an ambassador for the Federation. He took part in the summit of Scorpi X, setup the Klingon Free-Trade Agreement, and instigated the Perez Accords. Despite this faced lingering bad blood from veterans of the Federation - Klingon War. [1]

In 2259, Dak'Rah visited the USS Enterprise in the Prospero system after concluding difficult negotiations for an piece treaty between the three inhabited planets of the system. [1]

Nurse Christine Chapel witnessed a fight between M'Benga and Dark'Rah and reported that Dak'Rah had attacked M'Benga, who killed him in self-defence. [1]

After discommendation Dak'Rah's daughter Bytha sought to slay her father to restore her family's honor, but after Dak'Rah's death, her only possible action was to kill M'Benga instead. In 2261, she tracked M'Benga to Kenfori and challenged him to single combat. By threatening Pike's life, she forced M'Benga to admit that he had assassinated Dak'Rah. Later on the Enterprise, M'Benga was prepared to confess to murder, but Pike told him that he would not file a report based on a confession made under duress. [2]
