Kipp was a miner whom Voyager contacted in 2377 whilst attempting to track down the EMH which Gar had stolen. Gral had sold several thousand induction units to Kipp, but during his visit he stole twenty kilos of iridium ore. It was whilst trading this Iridium with Voyager that Gar stole the EMH. Captain Janeway agreed to return the Iridium to Kipp in return for his help in locating Gar. [2]
