Aunt to Seven of Nine, Irene Hansen was one of Seven's few surviving relatives on Earth. In 2377 Seven contacted her via subspace, despite feeling some apprehension about the contact. Irene recalled a weekend when she had looked after Seven (then Annika Hansen) and commented that she had been the most stubborn six-year-old she had ever met. She told Seven that Strawberries had been her favourite food as a child, a preference she had re-established as an adult without ever realising that she had eaten them before. [1]
