A Skreean, Haneek was the first of her people to find their way through the Bajoran wormhole in 2370. She became the de facto leader of her people because of this, and announced that Bajor was the fabled planet of Kentanna, where legend said her people would ultimately settle. Haneek was devastated when Bajor refused to allow her people to immigrate to the planet, especially when one of her people was killed attempting an illegal landing there. [1]
