A Federation citizen, Magnus was something of an amateur explorer. In 2357 he set off along with his wife and daughter to investigate rumours of a species known as The Borg. Although he was successful in discovering the Borg and learning much about them, Magnus and his family were ultimately assimilated after the Borg became aware of their presence. [1]
