A member of the crew of the SS Columbia, Vina was the only survivor when the ship crashlanded on Talos IV. She was badly injured, but the Talosians managed to reapir her. Since they had never seen a Human, Vina was left badly disfigured by the treatment and felt that she could no longer live amongst other Humans. Under threat from the Talosians Vina attempted to seduce Captain Pike so that a race of Humans could be bred as slaves, but the attempt failed. Vina chose to continue living with the Talosians. [2]
