A Starfleet officer who surveyed Tarchannen in 2362, Leijten was infected by the parasitic life form which resided on the planet. She began to be transformed into one of the parasite species in 2367, but Doctor Crusher was able to reverse the process. Leijten was instrumental in convincing Geordi La Forge to return to the ship to reverse his own transformation. [1]
