A member of the Kazon-Nistrim, Tierna was one of Seska's assistants. He tortured Chakotay when he was captured by the Kazon in 2372. Later in the year Tierna apparently attempted to defect to Voyager, but in fact this was part of an elaborate plan to disable the ship's autodestruct mechanism and allow the Kazon to capture it. Tierna's body had been impregnated with chemical explosives, allowing him to become a living bomb. He detonated himself in order to damage the ship. [1]
