Shaku was a Star Fleet officer who attended the meeting of senior officers following the bombing of the Kelvin Memorial Archive. He sat next to Admiral Alexander Marcus. He survived the attack that took place at that meeting and later attended the funeral of Admiral Christopher Pike. [1]
