A consciousness developed by the Jonisian Nebula and entcountered the USS Enterprise in 2258. The consciousness discovered the a lifeforms stored in the transporter buffer and recognised that it was lonely just as it was. It retrieved the lifeforms and discovered that it was a young girl Rukiya M'Benga. Rukiya had an incurable disease which the consciousness was able to cure. [1]Rukiya named the consciousness "Debra" after her mother. Debra used her abilities to take over the crew and enlist them in a game to entertain Rukiya. It used the characters from a book that Rukiya's father was reading her, but gave Rukiya control over the plot, causing changes she had always dislikes in the book. [1]When the Doctor M'Benga was able to contact Debra it pointed out that Rukiya was only cured as long as she remained in the nebula. The doctor pointed out thet the crew could not remain as they were. Debra suggested a solution. The ship could leave and Rukiya could remain with her. Which M'Benga eventually agreed to. [1]
