Not only the introduction of Lore, but the introduction of that eternal catchphrase, "Shut up, Wesley!" There is also a bit of lost potential for TNG with the Crystalline Entity. When I saw this as a child, I remember feeling that this thing is a monster that scares me. It looks beautiful, but destruction follows in it's wake. I thought we would see more of it. It's a force of nature and yet another hazard to life in the Universe.

I thought it was a stupid villan, a typical monster of the week.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Not a bad idea making it a force of nature. Imagine the kind of threat it would pose if there wasn't just one but thousands of them.

They showed up in one of the Titan novels, in packs!McAvoy wrote:Not a bad idea making it a force of nature. Imagine the kind of threat it would pose if there wasn't just one but thousands of them.
Re: SF Debris: Datalore
I only read the first book.
Hmmmm.... a pack of them would have been cool in later TNG.

Series ending I think, without technobabble.McAvoy wrote:

No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
