I just came across this article about the production of "The Cage". Some pretty interesting stuff there, like the original original transporter effect, and a snippet of an interview with Jeffrey Hunter, done shortly after filming.
There's also Jeffrey's obituary. Man, turning down Star Trek was probably the worst decision he ever made. It seems his life just went down hill after that.
