Does anyone know if Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 will play on a Windows 7 laptop without the need to download patches etc?

It works on mine. You get a warning saying "KOTOR wont work on this instalment of windows" then you hit okay and it loads just fine. I had it crash maybe 3 times in 6 months, and with auto saves its not an issue.
