Basically Pandas could eat meat and still do, but prefer to gnaw on bamboo all day getting so winded from it they no longer do anything else. So, what are they up to now that something more suitable is digested?

I always had a mental image of putting a panda on some high energy diet and it suddenly starts running around like crazy at high speed...
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

Id be willing to bet that an all-bamboo diet agrees more with a panda's digestive system. Being capable of digesting meat and having be as comfortable are two entirely different things.
Of course, this also broaches the idea of crazed man-eating pandas.

Well that certainly explains why they would continue to eat what to most other animals is rather unpalatable (bamboo) despite having the capability to digest other foods. Also, I just imagined someone from the Sci-fi channel reading this news and preparing a script for a TV movie about... crazed man-eating pandas.Mikey wrote:Id be willing to bet that an all-bamboo diet agrees more with a panda's digestive system.
