I'm dealing with that now at the school I'm at this year. People, even those with a supposed education, can just be so insanely stupid about things.

Having at least perused it, it seems a bit tongue-in-cheek to me. Hopefully this is an example of what our across-the-pond friends call "Taking the piss" -- otherwise this is a very disturbing object. Not the black helicopters, but the fact that people actually believe this bull...

I couldn't read too much for fear of stupidity-caused stroke, but I did notice that the author warned of an invasion... by the people who run the government. If they run the government, how exactly can they invade? That's like saying that England is planning to invade the United Kingdom.

I also think that this has to be tongue-in-cheek, but then again I've learned many times over not to underestimate the human capacity for idiocy.

No, really - that's what these people think.

Of course they're misidentified aircraft - the DEA operates darkened helicopters without FAA-mandate lights, and certain Army special aviation forces use dark schemes as well. The "black helicopter" phenomenon has also been reported in England, where police choppers use a dark scheme underneath to be readily visible against the daytime sky.

I always wondered about the U.S.'s paranoid conspirationist. I mean, the average plan they speculate is that the UN are planning to takeover the US and create some sort of dictatorship.

Funny, as the rest of the world's conspirationists are afraid of the US taking over the UN, as, with all things considered, it a tad more likely. (which is like saying 4 Kelvin is a tad warmer than 2 Kelvin)

Bear in mind that most of the black-helicopter theorists are members or sympathizers of the Montana Freemen or something similar, and/or are also willing to believe that the black helicopters are owned and operated by (gasp) the dreaded and sinister... Department of the Interior!

The fact that the Department of the Interior doesn't operate any helicopters of any color is merely a triviality, I suppose.
