And some people are just not getting it.

I can't believe they made more mistakes in the apology than they did in the original article.

But then again, maybe (probably) they are just trolling for Trekkies. I still have the weird urge of correcting them. :bangwall:

do you think it's part of the standardized Trekkie Gene to correct someone who's wrong about Trek?

Yeah, I guess nobody saw this part:
Addendum - We're also sorry for any errors in this apology.
or saw which pic they chose to lead the article.

Indeed, thanks Mikey for pointing that addendum to me.

I guess I'd would have expected more professionalism from news.com than professional trolling on their website.

Why though? If they're getting hammered by nerds about which fictional captain was in charge of which fictional spaceship why should they take it seriously? Picard giving the bird was perfect. The only people being trolled by this are those who are so incredibly stupid that they can't grasp when someone is joking or those with their heads so far up their asses about Trek that they have to correct every little mistake even when it means nothing.

It's funny.

Which is probably what we were supposed to have. This reads like the opening credits from 'Holy Grail'.

It's not even close - there's not a single Sweede or moose.

Then those responsible for leaving out the Swedes and moose have been sacked!

What about those responsible for sacking the people...

Never mind.

I love Star Trek and I probably know more about it than the average person in the street but it stops at getting annoyed at people who take the piss out of it :) They probably like Britain's (not) Got Talent and X Factor or reality TV shows and I know which one of us is getting more value for money...

I've given up on people researching anything. Was watching a bio of all the Trek Captains last night, and they were interviewing, according to the caption, Sgt. Travis Mayweather.
