My computer often doesn't boot properly and goes onto an endlessly repetitive screen, black background, white text, talking about ethernet or etherware, then it repeats ad infinitum, any ideas?

I've an idea:

We used to joke that every edition of Windows came with an extra button on the startup screen, known as the "add cash" button. As far as I know, Microsoft already has all our souls.
