Between the Millenium Falcon in First Contact and Artoo in XI I think this is conclusive proof that a galaxy far far away isn't really that far.

I think R2 and Data should open up a bar - R2 has experience serving drinks and Data makes a mean cocktail.

Nah, the star wars universe still has nothing to do with the star trek universe, it just seems R2-D2 has just found a way of travelling through the multiverse, as he's in the new Transformers film too.
