Since there are many Britons here...

I'm thinking about taking a 1 week vacation in London sometime in January. I was wondering if anyone knows the approximate price of the following:

A fastfood meal for two (McDonalds or something similar)

Indian or Chinese takeout for two

Fish & Chips for two

A beer in a pub

A meal in a pub

A meal at an average "sit down" restaurant

A meal at a nice restaurant

Assuming an Exchange rate of £1 = $1.61 or $1 = £0.61881:

A fastfood meal for two (McDonalds or something similar) - about £8 / $13

Indian or Chinese takeout for two - about £15/£20 / $25/$32

Fish & Chips for two - about £10 / $16

A beer in a pub - really depends on which chain of pubs but on average in London about £3.50 / $5.50

A meal in a pub - for 1 person? Anywhere between £5 to £15 / $8 to $25

A meal at an average "sit down" restaurant - for one person? Subjective and can range from £20 to £30 / $32/$48

A meal at a nice restaurant - You talking a high profile west end restaurant? £100+ / $160+

PM me for anything further :) I work in London and know it quite well.

I appreciate the info Harry, I heard that food in the UK is quite a bit more expensive than in the U.S, but these prices (while higher than what I find where I live) are pretty comparable to NYC, for example.
