If for some unknown reason JJ decided he was going to do a remake of either a original TOS episode or movie but with the current crew what would you want it to be?

It would be kind of difficult considering all the new cast are so (relatively) young. It would look a bit odd having a (by then) 19 year old Chekov as XO on board the Reliant in a TWOK remake If I had to pick one, I'd go for a classic like City on The Edge of Forever but I'm hoping the reboot and new timeline means new storylines as well

As for remakes, they could do all of the movies, just in 30 years or so.

Well, in another thread someone mentioned the possibility of remaking the first contact episode with the Gorn.
that could be a god movie, with a few space battles, some nice shirt ripping moments from Kirk and a great story about xenophobia...

I think it would make a nice movie, provided the story was fleshed out more...

Nah, new stuff, make the moral of the story a subtle affair, more so than any other ST. Our views of morality have changed since the 60's, this needs to be reflected in the new stories. Our taste in what we see has changed also, more character play and less morality play with a massive leavening of action. This will allow one to appeal to the cerebral set as well as the action set of the audience. And please God no 90210 in space, I'll have to hunt down some people if that happens.

Both good ideas, but you can't have Wrath of Khan without Space Seed first.

I think a "Kirk talks a machine to death/frees people from a false god" type of storyline would be cool. Follow up the action intro of XI with something more cerebral. With cool explosions, of course.

Khan is supposed to be Indian, right? The people from India, I mean.

I'd suggest Naveen Andrews (Sayid from Lost). He has the charisma, the menace, and he's an incredible actor. He's not a large guy, but the genetic enhancement would make that a non-issue.
