If, when they release this to DVD, they release a Directors cut with all of the deleted scenes, do those scenes then become canon?

Probably not. We tend to treat such material as backstage info (green in our colour system).

I'd have thought that if they were integrated into the film, rather than being tagged on as extras, they would be canon. There would, after all, be no way of telling the added sections apart other than going through both versions side-by-side to compare them.

It depends, to an extent. If the deleted scenes are part of the extras package, then no we don't include them. But if they recut the movie to include them, then we do. For example we include material from the special editions of the TOS movies that they brought out a while back.

Aye, that works for me. If they're re-incorporated back into the episode, then I'd treat them as canon. If they're on a seperate "bonus features" portion, then no.
