Interesting enough, but it doesn't seem to fit the newer profiles of Starfleet ships. Enhanced explorers seem logical, but the trend had been to build sleeker looking ships. Moreover, mission pod mounted beneath seems like it would create a lot of interference w/ deflectors, phasers, torpedoes, etc. I also have difficulty in seeing how it would 3.5 times as maneuverable as a Galaxy.

The strength index seems awfully high for an explorer? Teeth I understand, but I'm not so sure I see the logic in this. Do we really need 8 torpedo tubes on an explorer?

On the positives: I like the idea of an elarged shuttle bay: Maybe not on an explorer, but you'd think we'd see troop carrier ships from time to time, with increased hangar space.
