So, a few clips of the soundtrack have been released.

What do you think so far?

I could tell the first time I heard the clip on the movie's website that it was inspired by the beat of the original Trek, that was nice.

But I was also hoping there would be some trace of the TMP theme, I know it as the theme of TNG.

However it sounds like there will not be any of that in this film, I knew they were going old school for inspiration but WOW!

I do like the new music, but the TMP/TNG theme is what I've come to know as Trek music.

As I mentioned on the spoiler thread, you can listen to four 30-second clips here. It sounds pretty good so far.

This score, from what I've heard, is quite nice. It doesn't seem to differ too far from other Trek stuff, though a little bombastic in some areas.
