The Land Before Time (the original one) was pretty cool. Although the most memorable were ESB and TWOK. :)

As a kid (although it wasn't aimed at kids) - Star Wars, definitely. Also, strange to say, Disney's The Rescuers. I guess I always liked Bob Newhart.

Star Wars Trilogy
Superman 1
ST TMP, ST TWK
Jaws
And when I was really young The Apple Dumpling Gang and Swiss Family Robinson.

Didn't know what booze and strippers where then, so that doesn't count.

I wouldn't let George Lucas here you say that. He's adamant that Star Wars was a movie aimed directly at kids, as were the sequels.

Dude, you were like 26 when Hook came out! :)

For me, three spring to mind.

Ghostbusters, because I saw the music video several months before the movie came out, and so I had a loooong bout of anticipation. And it proved to be far and away better than my wildest hopes.

The Black Hole, because as a kid I was fascinated with these things and now I had a chance to actually see a movie about one! I loved it, every single second of it. Last year I bought the DVD and it's very much more "you can see the strings" than I remembered, but it still has a certain charm. This is a movie that is absolutely begging for a remake, IMO.

Hangar 18 A movie about an accident during a satellite launch from the shuttle which kills an astronaut when the satellite hits a UFO and explodes. The UFO crashlands; half the movie is about the remaining astronauts, who are blamed for the accident, trying to get to the truth. The other half is the scientists investigating the captured UFO. It's a fun enough movie, but by no means a great one. Why it will always have a soft spot in my heart is that at the grand old age of 11, it was the very first movie I ever went to see entirely on my own. :)

Yes, but I thought that's what was being asked (as opposed to what the topic says). For films that where aimed at kids but which you liked anyway. To add to that list:

Flight of the navigator.
