Thats just because Chakotay was closer to a real person and Crusher was a uberboy.

When he stood up to Janeway in Alliances and reminded her that they're going to have to break some regulations to survive in the DQ and that the Maquis aren't willing to die just to keep Voyager out of the Kazon's hands. One of the few times Chakotay's shown that he does, in fact, have balls.

Never was a huge Chakotay fan, but you have to give the man credit for hooking up with seven of nine.

What about that episode where the ship was split into several parts, each in it's own temporal time and he pulls it altogether and saves the day.....season 7 VOY "Shattered".?
