I like the idea of a Romulan destroyer. It always seemed ridiculous that the whole Romulan fleet that we saw were the D'Deridex. They're massive cities in space, essentially, but the thought of not having smaller ships (aside from the tiny Science/Scout ships) was ridiculous. Sure, D'Deridex could outmatch a Galaxy, in theory, but smaller ships are only practical. Unless you've got unlimited D'Deridex, what happens when you just need a quick planetary defense ship, frigate, etc. to quell something smaller. Having a few of those might make more sense than one D'Deridex, as a warbird can only be in one place at a time.

Oh, it SO bothered me that we never saw more Klingon and Romulan ships. The Klingons basically had the TOS ships, the BoP, and the Vor'Cha - and that was it, their whole fleet. A modern cruiser and a bunch of century old designs. Throw in one single appearance by the Negh'Var, of course.

The Romulans were worse, with hulking great battleships and then basically nothing.

Yet we get new Federation ships by the boatload! How many classes of ship does Starfleet operate, fifty? A hundred? Instead of kitbashing up the Centaur, or giving us yet another variant of the Miranda, couldn't we have just one or two Romulan cruisers and destroyers? A modern BoP or D-7?

I suppose money is behind it all. But hell, Voyager managed to have "alien ship of the week" virtually every week, and while some were re-uses or kitbashes, many were new ships. Couldn't DS9 manage even two or three in seven years?

Maybe the wanted them to only have a few designs. The federation has many species and thus different designs but the others are all monoculture thus stick with only a few. It hammers the point home about a single empire.

You'd have a point, if we saw so variety, like the Andorian and Vulcan deisgns in Enterprise. Instead we got a million and one variations on the same old saucer/engineering combination.

They Have Utilized the Warp Reactor and Phaser Technology From the Galazy Class Starship

However this ship is Larger than the Galaxy at 750M it is larger than any ship in the Alpha Quadrant Save the Romulan Warbird

However the Selica VI Shipyards Were Destroyed When the Cardassians Revolted Againt the Dominion only 50 of these ships entered Service.

Not bad though I'm not so sure the back story makes sense, being built during the dominion war/pre-Dominion rebellion. Surely if these were that great we'd have seen one? Just a thought.
